Obstetrics and Gynaecology

The Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department is home to over 12,000 new born births each year, as well as providing care for a wide range of obstetrics and gynaecology emergencies. The doctors and midwives at Port Moresby General Hospital have achieved the lowest perinatal mortality rate among equivalent hospitals in the developing world. In addition, this department has participated in several important research studies that have contributed greatly to the advancement of medical knowledge both within PNG and further afield.
